Executive Head's Welcome

Welcome to the Website of Millbrook Primary School.

Choosing a school for your child is a tremendously important decision and one that we take very seriously and so I hope that you will find our website a good starting point for your search.

We are proud at Millbrook Primary School of the welcoming feel that is a real strength of our school and that it is clear that all children are at the heart of what we do. Whilst endeavouring to ensure our children become excellent citizens, learning to live fairly alongside others, we also strive to provide a challenging yet engaging curriculum to ensure that each child reaches their potential.

Our school instils a hardworking ethos, expecting children to take pride in their work and that of others. Providing a strong foundation for learning is also very important thus the basics of education are also very highly valued.

Our most recent OFSTED states:
‘Teaching at Millbrook is characterised by positive and nurturing relationships between staff and pupils. Children make excellent progress in the early years from their starting points. Pupils make strong progress in reading, writing and mathematics across the school.’

Partnerships with our families is also a strength and there are many opportunities to spend time with us in school across the year.

Millbrook Primary School is part of a two school Federation based in a semi-rural location just outside of Wigan, within one village. This means that our two schools share a Governing Body and an Executive Headteacher with a Head of School based on each site.

This is just a glimpse of who we are and what we are achieving for our children however the best way to really become familiar with the school is to visit us and experience it for yourself. We would be delighted to meet you.

Executive Headteacher
